On Thursday the 5 September a team of 11 runners from Thompson Jenner along with hundred of other participants assembled on Exeter’s Cathedral Green for the 6.30 pm start of this year’s Michelmores’ 5k Charity Run. The annual event, celebrating its 20th anniversary, started and finished on Cathedral Green on what was a lovely early September evening. This well supported event attracted close to 1000 runners once again this year.
The Run saw individuals, teams from local businesses, running clubs and community organisations come together to raise money for Michelmores’ Charity of the Year, The Amber Foundation. A fantastic cause, the Amber Foundation helps homeless young unemployed people regain control of their lives and strive towards positive and independent futures.
Well done to the 10 girls and 1 boy who made up the Thompson Jenner team and put in the hours of training and effort, and to everyone else who took part in this great charity fund raising event! We look forward to taking part again next year
