Based in the Devon countryside just outside Exeter, Sheds Direct Devon Limited is a family-business success story. Started in May 2001 by Leigh Perry the business has grown organically to become Devon’s largest manufacturer of quality garden buildings. The company now has thirteen staff including Leigh’s son in law, with Leigh’s son Joe being responsible for the day to day running of the business.
Originally based in Ebford, near Topsham; in February 2015 the firm moved to a bigger site at Wards Cross, Broadclyst, Nr Whimple; partly thanks to the support of East Devon MP Hugo Swire who helped to persuade the local council to agree to the siting of the new factory. The new premises have enabled the company to both increase its manufacturing capacity and to offer a large display area showcasing a range of garden buildings.
Commenting on the opening of the new site Mr Swire said “I was absolutely delighted to open the new premises of Sheds Direct Devon. Sheds Direct Devon has grown exponentially over the past two or three years and this excellent new factory will give the business the space to expand even further.”
One of the benefits of manufacturing garden buildings on site is that it enables the company to design and install buildings which meet their customer’s exact requirements. So whether customers are looking for something small such as a mini tool shed or something more elaborate such as a garden room, the Sheds Direct Devon Limited team can design a bespoke building which suits their customer’s needs, even matching the window design to existing house windows if required.
Hardly surprising therefore that the Sheds Direct Devon Limited ethos is to provide a professional service from the first time they meet customers to design, manufacture and installation.
