Rest homeowners invest in expansion and first class care and facilities.

Harbour Rise is a thriving rest home that provides exceptional residential care in Devon. The home is situated in one of Torbay’s prime locations with panoramic views over the bay and with the picturesque harbour of Paignton close by.

Mark Edwards

Owners, Mark and Cecile Edwards, moved down from London to South Devon and after looking at several potential buying opportunities, they finally purchased Harbour Rise in 2007. Since then Harbour Rise has gone from strength to strength, the owners acquiring an adjoining hotel and almost doubling in size to create wonderful facilities.

Thompson Jenner has been involved with Mark and Cecile at the very start of their purchase of Harbour Rise and the initial business incorporation and has played an important and active part during the expansion of the business, providing the right finance and property expertise and ensuring a smooth and tax-efficient outcome.

When Mark and Cecile came to us, we took the time to get to know them and their business needs. The services we have provided and continue to do so include:

  • Advice and guidance on business planning
  • Bookkeeping and management accounting
  • Preparation of accounts and reports
  • Business and personal tax planning
  • Company secretarial services
  • VAT advice
  • Commercial property advice
  • Ongoing business and tax advice
