Partners and staff at Devon based chartered accountants Thompson Jenner LLP are celebrating again after a series of accounting exam successes.

Congratulations went to accounting trainees Natalie Ella, Harriet Gibson, Sam Laskey and Alastair Baxter, all of which have recently sat exams as part of their accounting training and qualification.

Exmouth based Natalie Ella, who joined the firm in 2016, has passed her final Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exam and has now qualified as an accountant and been accepted as a member of the association. A very happy Natalie will be taking a well-earned break from studying and exams.

Over in the Exeter office a delighted Harriet Gibson, who joined the firm in 2016, has now passed all her exams and also qualified for the ACCA. She is continuing with her studies to gain a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification.

Sam Laskey, who has been with the firm in Exmouth since 2015, has passed another professional stage exam towards his ACA qualification, this being Business Planning: Taxation. His next exam will be in September. This will be the final exam of his professional level ACA exams before moving onto the Advanced level final stage.

Meanwhile Alastair Baxter, who has been with the firm for two years in Exeter, has also passed his ACA professional stage Business Planning: Taxation exam and will sit a further exam in September as part of the Business Strategy module.

The ACA qualification is delivered by the prestigious national accounting association the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and allows the bearer to be referred to as an ‘Associate of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’. Both Sam and Alistair achieved excellent marks in their ACA exams.

Thompson Jenner LLP’s Managing Partner, Neil Curtis, said ”I am delighted and immensely proud to see our trainees continuing to achieve such excellent exam results and many congratulations go to all of them. Gaining the exams requires a lot of hard work and dedication and each of these trainees have showed these characteristics time and time again”.

Finally, Exmouth manager Marcus Worthington has been accepted into the ACA after completing all of his exams at the end of last year. Marcus joined Thompson Jenner in 2012 having graduated with a degree in Mathematics form the University of Birmingham. Marcus worked as a senior in the audit team before recently progressing to become a Corporate Services Manager.

Neil Curtis concluded, “We pride ourselves on employing and retaining the very best people and strongly believe our staff are our greatest asset. We invest heavily in their development and training and I look forward to the continued growth and success of our trainees in delivering a first class service to our clients.”
