Supporting Hospiscare

13th April 2018

Providing end of life care to individuals and their families requires far more than simple health management. Practical support and advice can be invaluable alongside the recognition that every individual and every family requires a personal approach which is right for them. That is why at Thompson Jenner we were particularly pleased to be able to sponsor a fundraising dinner attended by 300 guests in aid of our local Devon Hospiscare charity.

The dinner on April 4th, co-sponsored by ServiceMaster Clean Devon, brought together a number of local businesses; all enjoying the hospitality of the University of Exeter. A welcome glass of champagne followed by a three course meal was accompanied by an auction of exclusive and tempting items, further boosting the amount raised on the night to more than £24,000.

Our particular thanks go to our guest speaker Rob Baxter. Rated as one of the best rugby coaches in the UK following the Exeter Chiefs’ recent LV Cup and Aviva Premiership successes, Rob gave his thoughts on ‘Maximising your team’s potential’ and how this can be applied in the work place as well as on the rugby pitch.

Commenting on the evening Thompson Jenner Partner Ruskin Wilson said “The amount raised will make a significant contribution to Hospiscare and the help which they offer to some 2,500 patients every year in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.”

Richard Cousins, Hospiscare’s Corporate Relationships Manager, said “It was a fascinating evening and everyone at Hospiscare is very grateful to Rob for giving up his time and supporting our charity as well as the support from our sponsors”.
