Charity Support

Engaging with our local communities, who are integral to our achievements as a business.

Exeter chiefs foundation

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation was set up in 2010 by some of Exeter’s and the surrounding regions top names in business and sport who joined together to use their expertise to raise money for charities and to support key projects across the region. The funds raised by the Foundation are to the benefit of many local schemes and charities, with no particular beneficiary. Local charities that have been supported include the Brandon Trust, Hospiscare, Exeter Community Services, Headway and the Exeter Samaritans.

Since inception, the charity has raised more than £1M and helped over 80 projects, charities and organisations .

Wooden Spoon charity

Thompson Jenner is also proud to be a supporter of the Wooden Spoon charity, the children’s charity of rugby. The charity funds life-changing projects that support children and young people with disabilities or living in disadvantage.

Thanks to the support of almost 500 members and volunteers, the Devon branch has raised more than £1.4 million and supported nearly 40 local children’s projects since 2000. Some of the most recent Devon projects have included funding specialist rugby wheelchairs, new changing rooms for a hydrotherapy pool and an updated sensory room at a children’s hospice.

Please check out the website www.woodenspoon.com for information on the many fundraising events and projects supported by our regional branch.

The West Country 100

We are delighted to support the Royal Marines Charity and be part of the West Country 100 Dinner. The exclusive, invitation-only dinner serves to connect the charity’s expanding network with the Royal Marines. Launched last year, the West Country 100 is an exclusive club of 100 West Country businesses who are committed to raising £1,000 per year to support Royal Marines.

The Royal Marines Charity is an entirely self-funded charity, which aims to support Royal Marines in need, most notably, those whose careers have ended prematurely due to injury. Beneficiaries are supported through an intelligent combination of work placements, mentoring, training, financial support and full-time employment. Beyond this, the charity also provides support to Royal Marines and their families to overcome adversity through its expanding business network.

Surfers Against Sewage

Plastic pollution is a huge problem which we must tackle head-on, and we are proud to have joined the Surfers Against Sewage Ocean Network to help support the fantastic work they do!

As a business we are making a difference by looking at single use plastic in our offices and intend to highlight the importance of doing this, and how easy it is.

On National Beach Day in August 2022 over 20 staff came together from both offices to take part in a beach clean at Exmouth.  In little over half an hour we collected a staggering 10kgs of waste!
