Thompson Jenner is delighted to have chosen the Children's Hospice South West again as its nominated charity for 2013. This truly deserving charity is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations.
Children's Hospice South West helps and supports children and their families who are living with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions which mean that sadly they will not reach adulthood. They are the only organisation in the South West to provide vital hospice care to these families. They offer palliative care, emergency care, planned respite and end of life care. But there's more to it than that. They provide a loving and caring place for every member of the family, mums, dads, grandparents and well siblings. A place where everyone can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again and find expert help and support in facing an uncertain future.
The services are free to the families and they rely on the generosity of supporters to deliver their promise to 'make the most of short and precious lives'. To find out more please visit www.chsw.org.uk or call 01271 325270

Fund raising news - 2013
Firm's e-cards help children's hospice again
Thompson Jenner are delighted to announce that for the fourth year running the firm and staff at their Exeter and Exmouth offices have been able to make donations to local hospices as a result of not sending paper Christmas cards at Christmas.
Instead of sending traditional paper Christmas cards through the post to clients and business contacts the firm again decided to send e-cards, a more environmentally friendly alternative, and donate the money saved to the Children’s Hospice South West. Staff at the firms Exeter office were also able to make a significant contribution to the donation by not sending paper cards to each other once again this Christmas.
Thompson Jenner’s Marketing Manager, Robert Munday said: “We were delighted to be able to make this donation to our nominated charity for 2013, the CHSW, as a result of not sending paper Christmas cards through the post this Christmas. The partners and staff can’t think of a better cause than helping to support the fantastic work undertaken by the charity across the South West. He went on to say “We are all looking forward to working with the CHSW team and being involved with other fund raising events throughout the year.”

December - 2012 - The East Devon Christmas Swim & Run Challenge 2012!
On Christmas Day, Stephen McCaffery, a Corporate Services and Tax Manager at our Exmouth office, undertook a mammoth Christmas day challenge to raise some money for Children's Hospice South West.
Stephen took part in the Budleigh Salterton Christmas Day swim , he then ran the five miles or so along the undulating and very soggy South West coast path for a second dip in the sea at Exmouth!
It didn't help that the Budleigh swim started a minute or two late and the Exmouth one a good four minutes or so early! Never the less, Stephen managed to complete the challenge and has raised over £500 for the CHSW, which is fantastic.
Congratulations Stephen and many thanks to all who sponsored him.
May - 2012 - Corporate Challenge 2012
This is the ultimate charity challenge event in the South West and is designed specifically for companies.
In the 5th year of the event, teams met in Dartmoor on the 19th May to battle it out to be crowned Corporate Challenge winners and raise money for life-limited children in the region. Teams of 4-6 people from businesses across the South West took part in a 10k hike followed by 20k mounting bike ride around the Okehampton army training camp and Meldon reservoir on Dartmoor, with various team building tasks along the way. Once again Thompson Jenner entered two teams representing our Exeter and Exmouth offices and raised vital funds for this very cause.
